Danielle Hohm, FNP-C
Family Nurse Practitioner
Danielle (Dani) started Family Wellness Clinic in November of 2019. She is a board certified nurse practitioner and career nurse of over 10 years. She has worked in a variety of specialties and positions, including cardiology, ICU, surgical/recovery, and management. Dani graduated with her Bachelor's in Nursing from SDSU in 2009 and her Master's in Nursing from Clarkson College in Omaha, NE in April 2019. Her experience in the professional field fostered the dream of starting her own clinic to be able to serve the community of Brookings on a direct, personal level. Her goal with each patient is to listen and learn in order to help them achieve their health goals.
Jennifer Olson, MD
Family Medicine Physician
Jennifer Olson, MD is board certified through the American Board of Family Medicine with over 20 years of experience. She provides care to patients of all ages, from newborn to the elderly. She is passionate about establishing strong relationships with her patients and their families and caring for them through the stages of life. She completed her medical training at the University of Minnesota Medical School in Minneapolis and the Family Practice Residency of Idaho in Boise. After completion of her medical training, she served patients in the Indian Health Service in Fairbanks, Alaska for 3 years. Her challenging practice which included traveling to remote villages in Alaska helped develop her skills and independence. For 15 years she worked at Sanford Clinic in Brookings where she was privileged to care for so many families in the Brookings and surrounding area. She is excited to continue providing patient-centered care at the Family Wellness Clinic. Her professional interests include patient education, the promotion of patient autonomy regarding medical care, and office procedures. She specializes in preventive medicine and chronic disease management and works with patients to minimize the use of pharmaceuticals.
Jennifer and Matt are the proud parents of three children- Anya, James and Sarah. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time at home with her family, attending Bobcat fine arts and sports activities, cooking and gardening.
Tina Tietjen, PT PRC
Tina Tietjen is a board certified physical therapist with 19 years of experience working in the physical therapy field. She graduated from SDSU with an Athletic Training Degree in 2000 and from the USD with her Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy in 2003.
In 2008, Tina completed her Postural Restoration Certification from the Postural Restoration Institute in Lincoln, NE. This certification indicates that she has advanced training and extraordinary interest and devotion to the science of postural adaptations, asymmetrical patterns and the influence of polyarticular chains of muscles on the human body. This is a very holistic approach to physical therapy that integrates the multiple systems of the body into treatment approaches. Tina is currently the only physical therapist in Brookings, SD to hold this certification. As part of this certification, she has studied advanced neuro-muscular pelvis restoration techniques and has developed a positive reputation for her results with patient suffering from low back pain, sacro-iliac dysfunction/pain, hip pain, incontinence, pelvic pain and painful intercourse. She also has a special passion for working with expecting and new mothers.
Postural Respiration techniques were also part of this specialty certification. The importance of proper respiration is integrated into all techniques from the Postural Restoration Institute. During the pandemic, she has been using her advanced knowledge in this area to help many patients recovering from Covid. She has worked in a variety of settings/specialty areas including: sports medicine, outpatient rehab, aquatic therapy, women’s health, long-term care in assisted living and SNF, inpatient acute care, home health services and most recently in pediatrics. Prior to starting at the Family Wellness Clinic, Tina was assisting with pediatric care and absolutely found a love in working with kids.
Fun Fact: Tina has also always had a passion for working with runners and cyclists. She has been a long-distance runner since the age of 12 and with her longest run being the Jack 15 (15 miles) and has also completed a triathlon. She currently performs spinning classes on a regular basis and would love to become an instructor.
Tina and her husband Mike have 3 boys Matt (24), Jaxon (18) and Logan (16). Mike and Tina enjoy fishing and outdoor activities together and spending time with family. She is excited to be a part of the Family Wellness Clinic because of their commitment to quality, holistic care!!
Jodi Olson, FNP-C
Family Nurse Practitioner
Jodi Olson is a board-certified nurse practitioner and career nurse with over 10 years of experience. The majority of her nursing experience is in emergency medicine. She graduated with her RN degree in 2010 and obtained her Master’s in Nursing from University of North Dakota in 2022. She is passionate about providing great care and education, and feels it is important to meet patients where they are in their personal health journey, which fits well with the care model at Family Wellness Clinic.
She has been a part of the Brookings community since 2018 and lives here with her two children, Natalia and Jaxon.
Front Desk/Office Manager
Katie has worked in the dental and medical field for over 15 years and in three states, Minnesota, Texas and South Dakota. She has worked in a variety of positions, including Dental Assistant, Office Reception, and Insurance Specialist. Katie graduated with a degree in Dental Assisting from Minnesota State University in 2004. Her passion for helping people led her to the Family Wellness Clinic and she is thrilled to be able to serve her community of Brookings with Dani and the other staff.
Katie and her husband Eric stay busy with their 6 year old daughter, Cora, and their 2 dogs and 3 cats. She also enjoys gardening and spending time in nature.
Melissa is a Registered Nurse and has worked in a variety of areas in her almost 20 year career. She has worked in a hospital setting in all areas and in long-term care, as well as transitional care. Melissa graduated with her Bachelor’s in Nursing from SDSU in 2001. She has a passion for wellness and is excited to be a part of a team that feels the same.
Melissa and her husband Kennley have four children - Jackson, Brooke, Mason and Ava. They live on a farm and stay busy with kids activities. Melissa also enjoys coaching basketball and softball and owns an online natural parenting store.
Mandy has worked as a registered nurse for the past 14 years. For most that time, she has had the pleasure of taking care of patients as a clinic nurse in Women's Health here in Brookings. She has a passion for supporting health and wellness and is so excited to be a part of this growing team.
Mandy graduated from SDSU with a bachelor of science degree in Nursing in 2006. She and her husband, Tom, live with their 3 children, Camden, Emma, and Livi in Hendricks, MN. They love their time spent together as a family and also enjoy being outdoors.
Jenna has been a nurse for 6 years in a variety of clinical settings including family & internal medicine, urgent care, OB/GYN, podiatry, urology, dermatology, orthopedics, & general surgery.
She is thrilled to join FWC to promote health & wellness to our community!
Sami graduated from SDSU with her nursing degree in 2018. In her 4 years of experience, she has worked in primary care, urgent care, and women's health.
She lives in an acreage near Rutland with her husband, Carl, and their four children, Paisley, Easton, Rhett and Baby #4 due Spring 2023. They enjoy anything and everything outdoors.
She is honored to care for patients and families at FWC and to be a part of such a wonderful team!
